Day 13 of Our 28-Day Challenge

The Lotus Sutra, also known as “Saddharma Pundarika Sutra” in Sanskrit, is one of the most important and revered texts in Mahayana Buddhism. It’s known for its emphasis on the concept of the Buddha nature and the potential for all beings to achieve enlightenment.

Chapter 13 of the Lotus Sutra is entitled “Encouraging Devotion”. In this chapter, the Buddha speaks to his disciple Bodhisattva Medicine King and a great assembly about the immeasurable merit of those who embrace, read, recite, expound, or copy the Lotus Sutra, even in the midst of persecution or hardship. He promises that these individuals will be protected by the gods and Buddhist deities.
