Chapter 23c–Return and Enlightenment: The Legacy of Faltering-Voice

Then the spiritual being known as Faltering-Voice, after showing deep respect and devotion to the enlightened being Sakyamuni and to the sacred relics of Treasure Tower, mounted a glorious tower made of seven precious materials. Amidst a magical display of raining lotuses and the sound of countless musical instruments, Faltering-Voice and his entourage of countless spiritual seekers, known as Bodhisattvas, returned to his own spiritual realm.

Upon arriving there, he spoke to the enlightened being known as The-One-with-Knowledge-of-the-Blossoming-Lotus-Garland-Resembling-a-Vine-of-Stars-Colored-with-Passion, telling him: “O Lord, I have visited the world known as Saha and uplifted many beings there. I have seen and honored the sacred relics of the Lord Prabhâtaratna and the enlightened Sakyamuni. I have also met the royal prince Manjusri and the mighty and energetic Bodhisattvas Bhaishagyarâga and Pradānasūra. And these incredible number of Bodhisattvas have all attained the profound meditation known as ‘Sarvarūpasandarsana,’ or ‘seeing all forms as they are.’”As the story of the spiritual being Faltering-Voice’s journey and return was being shared, something miraculous occurred. Forty-two thousand spiritual seekers, known as Bodhisattvas, achieved a new level of understanding called the “faculty of acquiescence in future things.” This profound insight allows them to accept and understand future events gracefully and wisely. Another important figure, the Bodhisattva Padmasrî, also achieved a special form of meditation known as the “Lotus of the True Law.”
