The Lotus Sutra, a guide to enlightenment
Chapter 12, Devadatta, its message so bright
Shakyamuni Buddha, a king in his past
Abandoned his throne, a vow to last
To serve the seer who taught him the way
A thousand years, he learned day by day
Devadatta, the former seer in sight
A friendship so strong, it shined so bright
All beings, good or evil, have the key
To reach Supreme Perfect Enlightenment, you’ll see
The form doesn’t matter, the heart’s what’s true
The Lotus Sutra, a path for me and you
Bodhisattva Accumulated Wisdom asked
Is there evidence of Buddhahood attained so fast?
The dragon girl appeared, her proof so real
Her enlightenment, in an instant, they could feel
The message so clear, the form doesn’t count
The Lotus Sutra, a path that we can mount
To cross the sea of suffering with ease
To reach the shore of eternal peace
Chapter 12 of the Lotus Sutra, a guide to all
Its teachings so true, they’ll never fall
Inspiration and guidance, a source so bright
For those seeking enlightenment, day and night.
