In chapter twenty of the Lotus Sutra,
A story of great reverence doth occur.
Bodhisattva Never Disrespectful’s name,
A man of virtue, bowing all the same.
He did not study, nor did he read,
But treated all with utmost care indeed.
By bowing low and praising each he’d meet,
He planted seeds of Buddhahood complete.
Though some impure-minded souls did assail,
He bowed and praised them without fail.
And as his life began to near its end,
The Lotus Sutra to him did descend.
This teaching was the key to his swift rise,
To Buddhahood, amidst the heavenly skies.
And those who mistreated him before,
Suffered in Hell, forevermore.
Shakyamuni Buddha was, in fact, this man,
Bowing low and praising, as best he can.
Those who had once treated him with disdain,
Now his disciples, in his heavenly reign.
The message of this chapter rings quite true,
For all have the potential, me and you.
By recognizing and affirming each’s worth,
We plant the seeds for Buddhahood from birth.
The Law of Cause and Effect is strict,
But the Lotus Sutra may still conflict,
The power to lead all to enlightenment,
Through compassion and true alignment.
The stanzas of Shakyamuni Buddha’s speech,
Are a tribute to the man he did beseech.
A reminder to us all to be respectful,
And lead others on the path to be successful.
In conclusion, this story holds great weight,
A tale of reverence, love, and fate.
The Lotus Sutra holds great power, indeed,
And through it, we may all attain Buddhahood, indeed.
