THESIS: Some stigmas claim to be written into our bodies — blood, birth, biology itself counted as a “sin.”
LOTUS LOGIC: In medieval Japan, the apocryphal Blood Bowl Sutra taught that menstruation and childbirth doomed women to a Blood Pool Hell — guilt assigned not to any act, but to biology itself. Itinerant Kumano nuns answered by pairing it with the Lotus Sutra as the “master medicine,” and they had chapter 12 on their side: when Śāriputra objected that a woman’s body is “soiled and defiled,” the eight-year-old Nāga Princess refuted him on the spot. The Lotus did not just wash away the stigma. It dismantled the logic that had created it.
🌷 The mud was never the problem. The story told about the mud was.
🌷 Your biology is not a debt. It never was.
ACTION: Name one “inherent flaw” story you still carry about your body, your origin, or your identity. Ask who benefits when you believe it. Then answer it the way the sutra does: not deficient. Never was.
