DAY 21: One Rain, Many Roots

THESIS: We compare our growth to everyone else’s. Same rain, we say — so why is their garden ahead of mine?

LOTUS LOGIC: The fifth chapter of the Lotus Sutra, the Parable of the Medicinal Herbs, ends the comparison. The Great Cloud covers the world and pours down one rain, of one taste, falling equally on great trees, small shrubs, and tiny herbs. And each plant absorbs the water according to its own capacity and nature. The great tree grows into a great tree. The small herb grows into a small herb. The herb is not a failed tree.

🌷 The rain falls equally. The roots decide.
🌷 You were never meant to be a tree. Bloom as the herb you are.

ACTION: Name one comparison you make habitually — the colleague, the sibling, the curated stranger online. Replace it today with: same rain, different roots, mine are working.
