THESIS: Many of us secretly rate ourselves “staff, not family” in our own lives. We take the smaller portion because we cannot imagine deserving the estate.
LOTUS LOGIC: In the sutra’s parable, a runaway son comes home after decades and cannot recognize his own wealthy father. He takes a job shoveling manure on his own inheritance. The father, patient as geology, meets him there and slowly raises him until he can claim what was always his.
🌷 You are not the hired help of your own life. You are the heir, still in work clothes.
🌷 The estate was never in doubt. Only your readiness to walk into it.
ACTION: Notice one place you settle for the smaller portion out of habit: the apology you over-give, the opportunity you decline. Ask what the heir would do instead.
